Great open air eating, great portions, food & service was so good

My boyfriend and I ate here for dinner one summer evening. We ate outdoors due to the pandemic, but it was so nice out it made the experience more pleasant. The service was great, and the food was delicious. Definitely coming back.

This place is very good, very large portions and good quality. You definitely pay for that too...our check for 2 adults and a child was $50 for breakfast. I would go back there though. The banana walnut pancakes were amazing!

Food was delicious and reasonably priced and u get a lot of food can't wait to go back only thing they need to work on their alcoholic drinks food is excellent drinks Terrible

Great to get out and eat there last evening. The food was delicious.

Been going to this diner for over 20 years and I never tried their French Dip. Please pass on ordering this. The roast beef was dry and they used a regular hamburger roll as their bun with melted American cheese. I will go back for other food choices but pass on the French Dip

Good diner, close to the train station (Rockville Centre) with prompt service and large menu. Meals served quickly and were fresh and tasty. The burger was very good

A great place for family and friends. Great Service. Some flaws such as no flavor in meats and at times uses old cooking oil (possibly). You can tell if the frying oil has been changed or not. But overall an amazing place to spend your day. Wether it be for simple appetizers or a large meal.

I always stop by getting some food here. I like the prompt service and well cooked food. Highly recommended.

Fantastic service and good food and selection.We spent three hours there on a Saturday with a friend that we don't see very often. The manager and staff allowed us to stay without pressuring us to leave.

Absolutely amazing diner! Amazing food and great service with the best gelato on the island. While it is definitely a little more expensive, the portions are huge and we always bring home leftovers for another meal. Only time we had issues was just stopping for gelato and the person serving us kept leaving to go wait on other tables and messed up our order. Overall great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

Very poor customer service, prices on their website are not the same as the price atvthe Diner. Quality of food has dropped from 6mths ago

Best diner on Long Island! The portions are very generous and the food is excellent there’s nothing more to ask for well except maybe better prices but you know it is what it is in NY.

I usually go here for something when I drop my car off across the Street. It's a Good Neighborhood Diner, clean, nothing fancy. They have a decent menu and the food consistently good. Also the staff is very nice and they have parking. The Golden Reef has been here for as long as I can remember so they must be doing something right.

Want amazing breakfast? How about late night drunk food? This is the spot, the amazing staff on top of the large delicious selection of food make this place one of the best places to eat on the island.

This is a good diner especially if you order the specials, portions huge. The gelato is amazing also and usually there isn't much of a wait. Most of the servers are great and fast.

Golden Reef Diner is a good place to go with a group of people, especially if everybody wants something different. Everything that I've ordered has always been good, but I would strongly recommend dining in over takeout or delivery. The pancakes are always good and so are the burgers, fries, chicken fingers, etc. They also accommodate large groups very well. I have gone with groups of 20+ people to the diner many times and they are always willing to slide tables together so everyone can sit together. The service is always fine and the wait staff are friendly, but just note that if you go with a large group, they will usually wait until everything is ready to bring it out at the same time. If you want things ready earlier you could just ask for them to be brought out when they're ready. Overall the food is good, the service is good, but the menu is just too large for everything to stand out individually - a strong 4 out of 5 stars.

It's a very popular place with lots of variety to the menu. For very large salads to a delicious burger and many other items. I also have to commend them some for some of the best gelato. Definitely worth a visit.

Always a great meal when we come! We get takeout and delivery a lot but every so often come in for dinner....Christine is a fantastic server and took great care of us! Definitely a favorite 👍😄

This diner is one of the spots in our regular "rotation". The portions are enormous (like most diners). One of their best dishes is the cranberry bleu salad. Also, maybe a little thing, but they offer multi-grain toast (which is delicious) with the omelettes in addition to standard toast choices. I haven't seen multi-grain toast in too many other diners.

Definitely my favorite diner. The staff is always friendly. The place is clean. It’s great for large groups. And the food is delicious.

For a diner , this place has some nice high end options. Our dinner was served in a timely manner and our waitress was super nice. The food was very good. They have an amazing gelatos too.

Although still straightening up after Isiais last night it offered a great breakfast & great service at 8:30 this morning.

This is a very nice diner. Service is quick and wait staff is always attentive. Meal portions, including desserts, are very good and very generous. There is a big parking lot in the rear if the side spaces are filled.

Very good meal outdoors in this Diner's former parking lot. They have set up a very nice tent to accommodate customers in these crazy times. The food is good and the menu could have a bit more variety. I had a good meal and will be happy to return. Prices are a little higher than average for diner food.

Good coffee and got chocolate . Come for the desserts and generous portions . Great for families.

This is a great place for that big hearty breakfast. Anything from pancakes (the Berry Blend is awesome btw) to their omelettes (farmers pictured with spinach - changed from broccoli - onions, peppers and bacon) , and their french toast (choose the thick cut bread!!) and all you will want to do is curl up under the covers and dream about it. Trust this reviewer you will not be disappointed. Go and enjoy!!

This is a very nice and typically Long Island diner. The food is very tasty, (I like the fact that I can get breakfast all day long) - portions are very large and service is quick and efficient. The staff is friendly, the toilets are clean and well maintained and the prices are fair for what you are getting. Parking is readily available and close to the entrance.

Went the day before Valentine’s Day. Amazing service and great food. I had the jumbo shrimp scampi and fried shrimp over rice. It was Perfectly seasoned.

My husband and I have been dining here for quite some time. Great variety of foods. Full size portions and servers pay attention to details and special requests . Don’t forget to have a pastry and/ or the best gelato you’ll ever find to finish off your meal. Expect to pay a little more than the average diner. But if you love better than average food and service, it’s definitely worth it !

Huge portions,so it's priced right! And the Staff here is one of the friendliest ever. It's like they love their jobs, so you always get a get experience. Love coming here for paninis. Plus who doesn't love to end the meal with some delicious homemade Gelato!

I would take this place over a five star restaurant any day of the week! The food is great and it's so retro! My mom and dad love it!

Fast service. Very attentive. Delicious food with a ton of options. If you ask for your home fries burnt, and stress that's how you want them, they get the job done. Gelato is incredible. Many flavors and can sample them all. Huge omelettes. Kid friendly options too. Overall A for this place.

I love this place! Me and my family come here all the time and they are so sweet and have such good hospitality which seems so hard to find that these days. It seems like everywhere else you go people or just miserable and don’t want to be there but this place everyone is happy and willing to help. I love that there open 24 hours. I bring all my family and friends here!

Nothing like a classic diner for breakfast.Great location in center of town, adjacent to the LIRR station.Open very late or 24/7 depending upon day of week.Big restaurant, but limited free parking.There is a valet and the commuter lot, that can also be used for a fee.The restaurant service staff were excellent.Never had to look for coffee to be refilled.The portions were HUGE...2 days worth of homefries came with my large omelet.The prices were a little higher than other diners or other breakfast options in the area.

Excellent gelato here. The food is fresh. I had their fries and stuffed mushrooms and they were good too. My mom ordered the tuna fish sandwich and she said it was mediocre. I heard they had good burgers here as well. Planning to try more items in the future.

Forgot to get the name of our server but he is very nice - gave us 100% customer service. Not to mention their food is really good!

I had a great time in this place, I went with the family, they are good with kids.Is a very american place, the traditional food, your onions rings, hamburgers, pasta, french fries, they serve a lot of food.They have good parking area.Bathroom just ok, but could be better.I will come back.

My favorite diner!

The Wife and I were looking for a new dinner, and we happened upon this in our travels and decided to give it a try. Little did we know that this dinner off of Sunrise Highway was rate #21 in an article from BuzzFeed called " 27 Ice Cream Shops You Need To Visit Before You Die." We order the Greek Panini and Banana Walnut Pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs and corn beef hash. Coffee was typical. Food overall was tasty. Service was okay, nothing spectacular. Sadly we didn't get to try the ice cream but we'll be back!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this Dinner. One of my Favorites!! Food is REALLY GOOD and staff is very attentive providing great service. Prices are beyond great as well and portions N included sides N extras are large enough to have a big doggie bag to bring home.

This diner is a wonderful place to eat. The food is plentiful and delicious. Our waiter Spiro last week was professional and courteous to our needs. The diner is very clean and the service over the years to be friendly.

Update From April: The past couple of times I went to this place with my family the Manager with the mustache yells at his employees in front of the entire room of customers. That man is very unproffesional and should know better not to yell in front of customers. If I wanted to hear yelling while I ate I could of went to my parents for dinner.
